How long a payment takes
When a payment shows as paid: NervixPay waits for blockchain finality, polls from the checkout and reconciles in the background.
NervixPay marks an order paid only when the block containing the transfer is final on that network, so a paid status cannot be reversed by a chain reorganisation.
| Network | Typical time until paid | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Polygon | Usually under a minute or two | Waits for the finalized checkpoint (milestone). |
| BNB Chain | Usually under a minute | Waits for the finalized block. |
| Ethereum | Roughly 15 minutes | Ethereum finalizes a block after about two epochs. |
| TRON | About a minute | Waits for the solidified (irreversible) block. |
| TON | Usually seconds | Waits for masterchain inclusion. |
Times are typical, not guaranteed: network congestion and slow wallet or exchange broadcasting add delay.
The countdown
- Hosted checkout orders (payment links, products, one-time payments) reserve the exact amount for 15 minutes. The transfer has to land on-chain within that window.
- A transfer that landed in time but is still waiting for finality is still settled: expiry never cancels an on-time payment.
- Website embed orders do not expire.
If the customer closes the page
Nothing is lost. A background reconciliation job re-checks open and recently expired orders about every ten minutes, for up to a day after expiry, and settles any on-time payment it finds. Emails and webhooks are sent the same way in both cases.
